AC miniature circuit breakers and DC MCBs share a DIN-rail footprint, which is why the wrong device still appears in combiner boxes and battery cabinets. Direct current does not cross zero, so the breaker has to force the arc apart rather than wait for a natural current zero.
A 63 A frame that is happy at 230 V AC may only be listed at a few hundred volts DC per pole. For 1000 V PV strings, poles are often series-wired. Confirm the wiring diagram on the datasheet, not just the In current.
Some DC MCBs are polarity-sensitive. If the battery or inverter can backfeed, use a device that is marked for that direction, and check Icu / Icn against the prospective short-circuit current at the board, not at the module.
Pronto KNB2-63-class DC MCBs are built for DIN-rail packing in combiner boxes and BESS cabinets. Pair them with the matching fuse holder and SPD so the whole DC path uses one manufacturer’s accessories and one set of certificates.
