Commercial and Industrial PV

One protection list for the roof, the combiner and the building board

A warehouse or office roof has more strings, a combiner, and an AC output that lands on a board shared with the building. The device list is longer than a house, and the next building usually asks for the same part numbers.
Pronto coordinates combiners, DC breakers and fuses, surge devices and residual-current protection against that specification.

Challenges

What shows up on a commercial roof

Fuse map for another inverter

String count and fuse rating copied from the last roof, not from this inverter input.

Indoor gear on an open roof

The combiner enclosure does not match the parapet, the cable entry or the weather on that roof.

The next order drifts

Each buyer picks a different curve, so two buildings that should match do not.

AC output, unchecked board

The inverter current is landed on a breaker and a board that were sized for the building load only.

Playbook

How a commercial roof is protected

  1. Count the strings into the inverter

Inputs, current per string, and whether they meet in a combiner or at the inverter itself.

  2. Combiner and DC protection

Fuse or DC breaker per input, DC surge device at the combiner, enclosure matched to the roof.

  3. AC output into the building

Breaker, residual-current device and AC surge device sized for the inverter current, not only for the old building load.

  4. Freeze the part numbers

The bill of materials is what the next building orders. It does not get rewritten on each enquiry.

The drawing shows the path from the array to the grid. Pronto coordinates the low-voltage protection on that path. Modules, inverters and batteries are not part of the supply.

Contact

Send the specification, not a general enquiry

String voltage, inverter model and the board schedule are enough to start a device list. Stock and delivery are checked from Poland, Hungary and China.

  • String Voc, Isc and number of strings
  • Inverter DC input and AC output
  • Combiner inputs, if the strings meet in a box
  • Where the AC output lands
